This is a simple guide to help you in this process. We are going to give you three elementary categories for using when approaching art. Many times art work crosses over in these distinctions. These genres create straight forward path to help you start and build your contemporary art collection, patrimony and an artistically formed view.

Decorative - everyday subjects to beautify our life and spaces. They evoke emotions to wake up our humanity and connect with reality.

Religious - everyday and transcendental subjects to point towards the Good, the True and the Beautiful, to wake up our humanity and our spirituality, something more.

Sacred - art work that is decorative and religious, but distinctly can be used directly for worship. This work awakens our humanity, our spiritually and our soul.

One can easily apply these idea to other moments in our lives, such as family picnic, a Christmas meal, or wedding feast. We can also apply these ideas to other arts, when hearing great music from folk music, a symphony, or a mass. We unconsciously use these ideas ourselves when we encounter beautiful objects and events. These categories inform us in our experiences, in creating new art work, and joyful intentional living.
